Flows tell you how a river is fishing before you wade in. On the Provo, the Middle reach typically wades best between 150 and 400 cfs — much above that and the seams move and the bank pockets blow out; much below and fish stack into deep holes. The Weber's Echo tailwater is more forgiving and often fishes well year-round.

Water temperature is the other half of the equation. Trout feed most actively between 50°F and 65°F. When summer afternoon temps climb past 68°F we pull off, fish early mornings, or move higher up the canyons.

If the numbers look off and you're not sure how that translates to your trip — call. We'd rather move you to better water than have you out on a river that isn't fishing.
